Korean Dermatology Clinic

I visited two Dermatology clinics in Gangnam, Seoul, and finally decided to go to DayOne for the Oligio Oligio treatment because the doctor said that a full-face treatment was not necessary.

I originally thought that when going to Seoul for cosmetic procedures, it would be enough to just “choose a clinic with high ratings online”. However, after visiting two Dermatology clinics in Gangnam, I realized that what truly provides peace of mind is a doctor who will immediately tell you, “You don’t need this procedure at all.” That clinic is DayOne.

This is my second time flying to Seoul for cosmetic procedures. Last time, I had a hyaluronic acid treatment in Hongdae, and the results were quite good. This time, my main concerns are the indentation of my Apple Zone and facial sagging, so I wanted to try Thermage. However, I heard that the Korean version of Oligio is much cheaper than the American version, so I decided to do some thorough research before proceeding.

Why did you ultimately choose Seoul DayOne Dermatology for your Oligio treatment? My real thoughts after visiting two different clinics.

This time, I visited two clinics in Gangnam: The first one is quite famous and often appears on recommendation lists, but once inside, it felt like going through a standardized process—the entire consultation took less than 10 minutes, and the assistant was even more eager to recommend additional treatments than the doctor himself. The second clinic is DayOne Clinic, located near Gangnam Station on Seoul’s Gangnam-daero. Just the design of the waiting area made it stand out: simple, quiet, and free from any posters promoting “limited-time offers”.

After carefully examining my facial structure and the degree of skin laxity, the doctor during the in-person consultation said something that left a deep impression on me: “Your temporal bones still provide sufficient support. For you, Oligio, a full-face treatment is not necessary; focusing on the middle and lower areas of the cheeks will be enough, as this will result in a more targeted effect.” These words made me feel more at ease—a doctor who suggested that less treatment was needed actually gave me even more confidence in entrusting my face to him.

What exactly is the Oligio, the Korean version of Thermage? What are the differences between it and the American version of Thermage?

Oligio is a domestic South Korean brand of radiofrequency Lifting equipment. Its technical principle is similar to that of the American Thermage FLX device; both use radiofrequency energy to heat the deeper layers of the dermis, thereby stimulating Collagen regeneration and improving sagging skin. However, in Dermatology clinics across South Korea, Oligio, known as the “South Korean version of Thermage,” has become increasingly popular. Its main advantages include:

  • More affordable prices: The Oligio 600 is priced around ₩600,000 to ₩1,000,000 in Gangnam, while the American version of Thermage FLX for the entire face usually costs ₩1,500,000 to ₩2,000,000 or more.
  • Rapid updates and replacements: South Korean brands are very proactive in updating equipment software, and medical training is also conducted more frequently.
  • Suitable for Asian face shapes: Many South Korean doctors have stated that for Asian face shapes with an Apple Zone and loose cheeks, Oligio’s even distribution of energy provides better results.

Of course, Thermage FLX still holds its own, especially in terms of its patented technologies and the global training program for physicians. The choice between them ultimately depends on your budget and the physician’s familiarity with the equipment.

Price comparison of Oligio Thermage treatments at Seoul DayOne Dermatology: Figures for 2026 upon request.

The following are the reference prices I obtained during a consultation at the DayOne Gangnam branch in April 2026. It should be noted that the pricing in South Korea’s Dermatology clinics is usually adjusted according to an individual’s skin condition; the figures below represent the “starting prices,” and the final amount will be determined based on the doctor’s recommendations after a face-to-face consultation.

Treatment options Reference price in Korean won Approximately HKD Approximately NTD
Oligio Oligio Version (600 pulses) Starting from ¥600,000 HK$3,380 NT$14,800
Rejuran PN (Deep Moisturization) Starting from ¥400,000 HK$2,250 NT$9,900
Second-generation American version of ultrasonic lifting treatment (100 sessions) Starting from ⩉500,000 HK$2,810 NT$12,300
Imported Filler (1 centum core) Starting from ⩲450,000 HK$2,530 NT$11,100
Inmode Inmode Inmode (target area) Starting from ¥200,000 HK$1,120 NT$4,900

In the end, I chose Oligio 600 injections (for the lower cheeks) (€10,000 approximately, or approximately HK$5,600 / NT$24,700), plus a Rejuran PN treatment for post-operative recovery. The total cost of these two treatments was roughly €100,000, which was nearly half the price of the Thermage FLX treatment I had considered in Taiwan.

Complete record of Oligio Thermage treatment on that day: From the initial consultation to the completion of the procedure, it only took me two hours.

The appointment is scheduled for 2 p.m. Exit Gangnam MRT Station and walk for about seven minutes along Gangnam-daero; DayOne is located on the 4th floor of the Hansung Building. As soon as the elevator doors open, you will find a quiet reception area with soft background music – nothing like some clinics where someone immediately approaches you with a tablet to ask you to fill out a form as soon as you enter.

After waiting for about 10 minutes, an assistant who could speak basic Chinese took me into the consultation room. The doctor consulted in Korean while the assistant translated, but the process went smoothly – unlike in some places where you have to wait a long time for an answer to a simple question. The doctor concluded that I only needed to undergo the Oligio treatment on the middle and lower parts of my cheeks, along with Rejuran for post-operative moisturization and repair. She did not recommend that I additional undergo ultrasonic lifting (“You haven’t reached the stage where it’s necessary yet”).

Before officially starting the Oligio treatment, the nurse applied a layer of anesthetic cream evenly on my face and waited for about 30 minutes. The Oligio treatment itself took approximately 40 minutes. Saying it didn’t hurt would be a lie; there was still a noticeable warmth around the edge of my jawbone, but it was much more tolerable than I expected. The nurse kept asking how I was feeling throughout the process. The Rejuran PN treatment took another 20 minutes. The sensation of the needles was finer than that of regular hyaluronic acid injections. After the multiple injections were completed, there were some red spots on my face, but the nurse said they would disappear within 24 hours.

Changes in Oligio one week and one month after the treatment: I took comparison photos.

After the procedure, my face was a bit swollen and felt hot to the touch. The doctor advised me not to use any skincare products containing alcohol for 72 hours, and to avoid activities involving high temperatures such as taking baths or using saunas. I stayed in Seoul for two nights before returning to Taiwan. By the third day after my return, the swelling had mostly subsided, and my skin felt tighter than before; I also noticed a slight Lifting of the facial contours.

One month later, I noticed the most significant results. The area of the Apple Zone felt as if it was slightly lifted upwards; when looking in the mirror, the contours of my lower face became clearer than before, and this change was also visible in photos. Thanks to the moisturizing effects of Rejuran, the quality of my skin improved significantly – my Pores became smaller, and my makeup looked much more natural and smooth.

To be honest, the biggest concern when making an appointment at a Dermatology clinic in South Korea is definitely the language barrier. A customer service representative will confirm the reservation within 24 hours.

For those who want to go to Seoul to undergo the Oligio treatment: there are a few things I wish I would have known before starting the journey.

I would like to share some practical insights gained from my personal experience this time. These are not marketing materials, but rather something I truly hope you will read before you set off:

Q: What exactly is the difference between Oligio and the American version of Thermage?

From my personal experience, the Lifting effects are similar, but Oligio generates heat more concentratedly, without the widespread heat distribution associated with Thermage. The recovery periods are also roughly the same, around 3 days. The main difference lies in the price: Oligio, with 600 treatment sessions, costs between ¥600,000 and ¥1,000,000 in Gangnam, while a full-face Thermage FLX treatment usually costs between ¥1,500,000 and ¥2,500,000 – there is a significant difference.

Q: What is the difference between Rejuran PN and regular hyaluronic acid injections?

The main component of Rejuran Healer is PN (polynucleotides), a growth factor extracted from salmon DNA. Its primary function is to promote cell repair and collagen regeneration in the dermis. The enhanced version is a concentrated form that provides longer-lasting moisturization. The difference between Rejuran Healer and Filler-based hyaluronic acid injections lies in their effects: Filler mainly provides hydration, resulting in a noticeable swelling effect; whereas Rejuran Healer has a reparative function, offering more subtle results and making it particularly suitable for post-treatment recovery after phototherapy sessions.

Q: Is it worth going to the Dermatology clinic in Gangnam, Seoul, compared to those in Taiwan or Hong Kong?

In terms of pure costs, a round-trip flight to Seoul plus accommodation generally ranges from HK$2,000 to HK$3,500. If you undergo the Oligio and Rejuran treatments, the total cost is approximately ₩1 million (equivalent to HK$5,600), while in Taiwan, the same two treatments would cost over NT$40,000 (about HK$9,500). Therefore, this option not only saves you a significant amount of money but also allows you to add an extra trip to Seoul. If you already have plans to visit South Korea, combining a trip with medical beauty treatments is definitely a very cost-effective choice.

Q: How is DayOne’s translation service? Can communication be smooth even when there are language barriers?

My on-site translation assistant is fluent in both Korean and Chinese, so there were no difficulties during the consultation or the post-treatment explanations. If you make an appointment through BeautsGO, their customer service will also assist you in confirming all the details before and after the procedure – even if you don’t speak Korean, that’s not a problem at all.

Reservation interface and service details of DayOne Dermatology’s BeautsGO service

Overall, my experience at DayOne has changed my perspective: when looking for a Dermatology clinic in South Korea, it’s not about which one gets the most online attention, but rather whether the doctor is able to tell you during the consultation, “You don’t need this treatment.” Only a clinic that can say such a thing truly puts your skin first.
